Juntao Gao (b. 1999, Linyi, China). After graduating with BA of Finance from University of Jinan (2020) and MSc from the University of Southampton (2022), he came to Slade School of Fine Art in 2024 to commence his artistic practice.
His artistic practice investigates the incongruity between primordial vitality and the social constructs of modern life. By consistently returning to animalistic themes and biological materials, he reveals how nature and wildness are distorted and constrained within contemporary 'everyday' spaces, while highlighting their enduring resilience and robustness.
