Mengmeng Zhang (b.1997, Jiangsu, China) is based in London. After finishing her Bachelor's Degree in Digital Publishing at the China Academy of Art, she studied MA in Fine Art Painting at Camberwell College of Arts and graduated in 2021. Zhang works in contemporary painting with research interests in memory-image and psychogeography. Her works explore the displacement between memory and the present, inner emotion and outer environments. Through intuitive colour choices that gravitate towards expressing certain emotions, Zhang then incorporates stylised characters to embody moods, actions and fictional experiences inspired by her personal reflections on everyday moments.
